for any of the listed events. 2008 Events at the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust The Wright 3 Tour of the Robie House In The Wright 3, super-sleuths Calder and Petra are drawn into another art mystery, along with Tommy, this time involving Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House. Now, a special The Wright 3 tour of the Robie House is available for kids of all ages. Led by Junior Interpreters, specially trained 5th-10th graders, The Wright 3 tour will allow kids to experience the space and mystery of the Robie House for themselves.

Design Detectives Family Tour of the Home and Studio Explore the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio to uncover the secrets of his ground-breaking designs. Your family will experience how America's most famous architect "broke the box" of traditional design during this interactive tour. Time: 1:30 pm December 2008 Family Fun Days featuring Victorian Christmas Tours Saturday, December 13 Saturday, December 20 Free tours of Wright's Oak Park home decorated for the holidays. January 2009 Table of Twelve Charity GalaExperience Chicago's amazing architecture from 1128 feet. The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust has been selected to the 2009 Charity of the Month program of the Signature Room at the 95th. The Table of Twelve reception kicks off the program celebrating the 12 selected non-profit organizations to be honored throughout 2009. Tickets are available at the Signature Room website for $75. As part of the program, the Preservation Trust has been designated as the non-profit of the month for October 2009, during which the Trust receives 10% of sales from the four-course Signature Selection menu. Founded in 1983 by owners Rick Roman and Nick Pyknis, the Signature Room's community giving program has donated over $560,000 to 184 non-profit organizations in greater Chicago.

Enjoy a lecture, coinciding with the Burnham Centennial exhibition, exploring ways in which our society builds upon and/or preserves land. Two speakers will be presenting their opinions on this somewhat controversial topic. John D. Said from the City of Elmhurst’s Department of Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development, will discuss urban planning and specifically Elmhurst’s response to urban planning highlighting the principles and ideas used in the Burnham Plan. Robert Bruegmann, former UIC professor, will present his findings from his recent book titled Sprawl in which he examines the causes of urban sprawl and its historic presence in our nation. Architectural Salvage Walk March 2009 Join art historian Rolf Achilles to wander among the treasures of a few of Chicago’s noted architectural salvage shops. Achilles’ expertise in early twentieth century decorative objects, art glass, hardware, and the like will provide a new perspective on their context and possible re-use. Learn about extraordinary Wright-designed furniture, vases, and light fixtures; Wright's approach to interior design in the Home and Studio; and fine and decorative arts collected by Wright during the early years of his career. Pieces vary from Japanese prints and original nature scene paintings to Arts and Crafts vases. Time: 10 am At Home Excursion: The Bradley House Saturday, April 18 Join us to view a rarely-seen Wright Prairie style interior that is not yet open to the public, the B. Harley Bradley House in Kankakee, IL. In addition, we will view additional buildings designed by Wright and Prairie architect Walter Burley Griffin, and look at the residential housing provided for workers in the Pullman factory on the South side of Chicago (circa 1880).
